Michael Collier (1953-
Michael Collier was born in Phoenix, Arizona, May 25, 1953. He is
associate professor of English at the University of Maryland,
College Park, and director of the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference.
He is the author of 'The Clasp and Other Poems' (1986), 'The Folded
Heart'(1989), and 'The Neighbor' (1995). He is also the editor of 'The Wesleyan Tradition: Four Decades of American Poetry (1993).
Michael Collier was named Poet Laureate of Maryland by the Governor in February 2001.
