SAILOR COMMITTEES

Sailor Advisory Committee (SAC)

The Sailor Advisory Committee was established by the State Library Resource Center Oversight Commission in 2005 to assist in the oversight of the activities of the Sailor Operations Center (SOC) at the Maryland State Library Resource Center at Enoch Pratt Free Library, Central Library in Baltimore, Maryland.

Database Review Committee (DRC)

The Database Review Committee was established by the Maryland Library Consortium to select and negotiate database products on behalf of Maryland libraries through Sailor.  DRC consults with Maryland Public Libraries, the MD-K12 Digital Library and the Maryland Digital Library through MPERL.

Maryland Public Electronic Resource Librarians Committee (MPERL)

The Maryland Public Electronic Resource Librarians Committee was established to facilitate communication among Maryland Public Library electronic resource librarians as they consider online database products for purchase through the Sailor budget and/or local library budgets.   MPERL also provides a central forum for the public libraries to discuss database products that they purchase individually.  This group includes MD-K12 Digital Library representatives.

MPERL MEMBERS 

Sailor Network Managers Group (SNMG)

The Sailor Network Managers Group is an organization of technical and administrative representatives of agencies connected to the Sailor Network, and Sailor Operations Center staff. SNMG meets five times a year to discuss Sailor related issues and other issues of mutual interest to the membership.  SNMG serves as a technical liaison and advisory entity to the Sailor Operations Center and the Sailor Advisory Committee concerning Sailor Network issues, and as a forum for mutual cooperation and support on technical issues affecting member organizations.
